Pierce College Farm Walk

Farm Walk 2014
Los Angeles Pierce College
6201 Winnetka Ave
Woodland Hills, CA 91371

Dear Parents, Families, and Friends,

Pierce College Agricultural Department students and staff would like to invite you out to our farm for a day of educational enrichment and fun! The College will be opening the farm to the public for Farm Walk. Our students prepare for Farm Walk in their animal science classes and want to teach the younger generation about how livestock is raised, the importance of farmers and farming, and the diminishing rural life style. We believe it's important for the community to be able to visit a real and functioning farm, and with the Pierce College Farm, it’s right at your fingertips!

Everyone is welcome to come out for this great educational experience. This is an annual, one-day event on Sunday April 27th from 9:30am-4pm. All of our animal units will be on display, which include the cows, goats, chickens, donkeys, and sheep. The Equine Center will be hosting activities as well.

Some of the activities include:
-Cow milking -Kids games
-Petting zoo -Interaction with our donkeys
-Face painting -Exotic animals from the Moorpark EATM program
-Sheep shearing -Equine shows performed by our own students
-Wool spinning -BBQ by Kiwanis Club
-Wool dyeing -Vintage Car Display
-Horticulture Displays -Firefighter Engine 72

Farm Walk is our annual fundraising event that helps to support the animals and maintain the farm over the course of the year. Admittance for children 12 and under is free and adults are a suggested $5 donation. Also, some of the activities have an optional donation box. Farm Walk strives to give back to the community through educational interactions for their continued support.

This is an outdoor event so you may want to check the weather forecast in advance to prepare. Please wear comfortable sturdy walking shoes, as some areas are uneven or unpaved. Also, you may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, or maybe a jacket.

Pierce College Agricultural Department is excited to see everyone there and thanks you for your support!
