Enrichment Registration for 2020 Winter Break Session


  • Please note that these classes offer the option of enrolling siblings that are not enrolled at ECES and fall within the grade range specified.
  • Classes are subject to cancellation if they do not meet enrollment minimums.
  • Due to the current unique situation, prices have been reduced on some classes.  In-person classes may have different rates.

Sewing and Embroidery (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

$145 (includes sewing kit)

Mondays / Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:00 AM - 12/21, 12/23, 12/28, 12/30, 1/4, 1/6

Learn to hand sew and embroider with Miss Shannon’s Sewing Class via Zoom! Children will learn the fundamentals of sewing such as the running stitch, back stitch and chain stitch. Patching and embellishing clothing is also taught by bringing in different projects to teach each skill. Fabrics are pre-cut and all materials needed will be  provided in our sewing kits! Projects will be adjusted to meet the age and skill level of the students. Safety guidelines will be discussed and reviewed in each class and with each new project. Fabrics are pre-cut and provided.

Sewing kits are housed in a bright blue canvas bag and include:

  • 15 skeins of thread
  • pins
  • needles
  • scissors
  • embroidery hoop


Academic Chess (grades K-5) siblings welcome!


Mondays / Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:00 AM - 12/21, 12/23, 12/28, 12/30, 1/4, 1/6

Academic Chess is devoted to promoting the merits of chess among children by using stories, dances, and catchy songs to make the game of chess exciting and easy to understand. Children participating in our program develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, have better concentration and mental discipline, gain confidence, and have lots of FUN!!! 

Class Structure: 

  • Students will participate in a 30-minute virtual chess lesson followed by 30 minutes of chess play!  
  • Lessons will be hosted via zoom and cater to Kinder - 6th grade students.   
  • Chess play will be in an online chess arena open only to our students.
  • Students may be broken up into groups based on experience.


Armenian (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

In this engaging class, we will work on Armenian language, culture, and traditions. The students will have fun learning the Armenian alphabet and basic conversational words. This class will help the students to expand their knowledge and become interested in learning about and exploring a country they might have never heard of. Books are included in the class cost.


ACE Cheer! (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

In this exciting virtual class, students will learn the fundamentals of the sport of cheerleading via Zoom! This class will cover cheer motions, jumps, drills, and dance. Students will increase strength, flexibility, agility, and body awareness. Students will learn routines to help put these fundamentals into practice. So come CHEER with us! *Students should have a large space to move & carpet, grass, or other softer surfaces would be best.


Young Ninjas (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

Young Ninjas Live stream classes are led by our high-energy Sensei's who introduce children to fundamental martial arts elements like blocks, kicks, strikes, stances and the almighty power of the KI-YAH!! By following along with your Sensei, each week children will participate in skill training, fun games, and creative challenges.

High Touch High Tech is proud to be offering their virtual, hands-on science programs here at Encino Charter Elementary. A High Touch High Tech scientist will be guiding your children through all kinds of fun, exciting and HANDS-ON science and nature experiences. 

Children will have a "super" fun time engaging in our completely hands-on science class. All materials are provided in this science extravaganza. Each class will expose your young scientist to a wide variety of science disciplines that include chemistry, biology, archeology, physics, engineering and much MUCH more. Our scientists will guide them each step of the way to not only learn the science, but do the experiments. At the end of each class they will have a bunch of experiments they did that they can share with friends and use to educate their family. It's all hands-on science FUN!

Every week we will introduce a new science concept with hands-on experiments each child gets to do. No boring videos - real hands-on activities led by experienced, knowledgeable FUN science educators.  All programs are designed to align with California Science Standards (NGSS) with an emphasis on science vocabulary and literacy.

In addition to their High Touch - High Tech science kits students will also need general materials like like, bowls, water, spoons, etc.  




Winter Wonderful Arts and Crafts With Miss Yvonne (Grades K-2) - siblings welcome!

A fun class for your younger artists who will learn the basics of drawing and the art of seeing via Zoom. Beneficial in strengthening their hand/eye coordination and listening skills by following directions step-by-step, while still giving them the freedom and tools to be confident in creating their own masterpieces. Supplies to be picked up at school, including their very own sketchbook (included in class cost).  Have fun this holiday season learning extra projects with Miss Yvonne.


Monet Watercolor and Drawing (grades 3-5) - siblings welcome!

$117 (art supplies included)

Become the next Picasso or Monet in this awesome online watercolor painting class! Students will learn via Zoom, drawing and painting techniques, get creative, and develop their own unique, artistic style. Combining painting and drawing materials and techniques, students will create beautiful, mixed-media masterpieces!  Materials will be provided. 


Mock Trial, Public Speaking, and Debate! (grades: 3-5) - siblings welcome!

Are you a person of passion and conviction, with a love for critical thinking and dialogue? In this class, students learn to use logic and other rhetorical tools to support their positions and to express themselves succinctly and skillfully. Students learn to walk and talk with assuredness and purpose, overcome jitters, and deliver speeches with confidence and animation!


Hogwarts Magic Workshop (grades: K-5) - siblings welcome!

Expelliarmus! Hogwarts’ Magic Workshop is here to amaze with spells, tricks, props, and techniques for our young wizards. Following the Code of Gryffindor, students will be just like Harry Potter and develop new skills, dexterity, creativity, stage presence, and self-confidence.  All props are provided. Join us via Zoom as we learn tricks, have house competitions, wizard games and more! 


Virtual LEGO Engineering: Mega Machines (grades K-5) - siblings welcome!

Join the Egghead Team from the comfort of your home as we jump headfirst into some MEGA MACHINES! You'll receive all your materials for the session, including all Legos and specialty pieces needed for the builds! Then, using LEGO™, students will design and build real mega machines like spinning windmills, lifting cranes, elevators, cars, and way more. We'll use wheels, bands, gears, pulleys, and tons of other cool specialty Lego pieces to build our Machines, and then after the building phase is complete we’ll put them to the test. That means we'll try to break 'em, blow them over, and put weight on them. If you pass the test, you pass the challenge!


Sky High Dance (Grades K-5) - siblings welcome!

Sky High Dance is devoted to motivating and inspiring children to live richer and fuller lives through dance. We use captivating stories, special dance games, and positive music to cultivate every child's confidence. Our class is open to ALL LEVELS, both boys and girls! 

A professional, kid-friendly dance instructor will teach each student the fundamentals of dance and challenge them to put their skills to use by learning a fun and exciting routine. Students will learn how to move, groove, and cut a rug with the best of them!
