MONDAY CLASSES

 

Armenian (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

In this engaging class, we will work on Armenian language, culture, and traditions. The students will have fun learning the Armenian alphabet and basic conversational words. This class will help the students to expand their knowledge and become interested in learning about and exploring a country they might have never heard of. Books are included in the class cost.

 

Hogwarts Academy (Grades K-5)

Perfect your Wizardry skills in this interactive, creative, spell-binding class! Find out which house you belong to and learn how to make potions, use your wand, identify creatures, and more! Ever wonder how a Magician does a magic trick? This class unlocks some of the secrets to the techniques of magic. Students will gain skills in acting, comedy, and memorization that are essential to a magician's performance. They will use a variety of normal household items such as cards, coins, cups & balls, and rope, and learn cool simple tricks!

 

Comic Book Creator (grades 2-5)

Brainstorm, Storyboard, Pencil, Ink, and Color.  In this special comic book class, create a character that will explore the future as you see it.  When you zoom light years ahead, what will you find?  After the session is complete, the comic books will be delivered to the students and are theirs to keep.  A list of materials needed are provided.  Class is for boys and girls.  Returning students are encouraged and new comic book creators are welcome!

Material needed:  Pencil, Black marker (such as Sharpie), Blue Pencil (optional), Ruler (optional), Scratch Paper, and Print 4 worksheets (link will be provided)

 

TUESDAY CLASSES

 

Yoga for kids (grades K-5) siblings welcome!

This is a multi-age, all levels Yoga class for kids. If you have been looking for a class to compliment dance, sports, a busy schedule, to strengthen or reduce anxiety, stress & learn mindfulness, this is it! 

Students will learn safe yoga poses, breath and flow in a non-competitive, energy filled class. We will work on alignment, coordination, balance and posture. Classes will include learning intentional breathing, strengthening muscles, body awareness, and ability to relax (yes, they love the Savasana!).  All levels welcome. Led by Heather Beltran, E-RYT. 

Benefits of Yoga: Yoga helps develop focus, concentration, stamina and patience. It can also reduce stress, anxiety and assist with self-regulation. Yoga can work to build self-esteem & confidence by reinforcing non-judgment and positivity. Namaste.

 

Virtual LEGO Engineering: Super Structures (grades K-5)

Join from the comfort of your home and blast off with the Egghead Engineering Team this session as we design and build huge structures! You'll be mailed all of your materials for the session once you sign up. Using the LEGO™ kit provided, students will build mega bridges that can withstand over 4 lbs. of weight, 4 foot tall skyscrapers, awesome lighthouses, and tons more. Then, we’ll try to knock em down, crush them, and put them to the test! At the end of the session, students will receive an Egghead Engineering Super Structures Degree proving they’re ready to build anything they can dream up!

 

Cooking for ages 8 and up (grades 3-5) siblings welcome!

Kids will get a practical working knowledge of the essentials of baking and cooking. They will learn how to “build” recipes and have the opportunity to incorporate their own flavor preferences into the items we create. Cookies with nuts or no nuts? Bread pudding with sauce or without? Hand pies with icing or no icing? Kids will be encouraged to think about the science behind cooking and begin to learn how to create their own recipes from scratch.

 

Yoga for Parents

Make time just for you & join us for thoughtfully sequenced 60 minute Yoga classes. We will breathe, move, stretch & flow. Whether you are a first time yogi or have been practicing for years - you are welcome. You will be guided through a combination of intentional breathing, stretches, Sun Salutations, foundational poses with both holding & flowing (Vinyasa) movement to help you strengthen, improve alignment and balance. 

We combine Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Power Yoga elements in our practice. Classes are fun and judgment free, we practice with music and end with a relaxing Savasana. "Nailed It" Cupcake Decorating Class (grades 3-5) siblings welcome!

Join us for a real life "Nailed it" Cupcakes decorating class taught by Ms. Sheila (pronounced Shayla) the Co-Founder of Mia Cakehouse. We will make 4 projects in 8 weeks; fun cupcake theme projects like Halloween, Harry Potter, The Secret Life of Pets and Winter cupcakes. During the classes the children will learn to work with fondant, modeling, icing and sculpting techniques and more. For each class you will need 2 cupcakes that you can either bake (recommended) or purchase at your local bakery. A special cupcake tool kit will be included and can be picked up at your school. Tool Kit (valued at $45) includes:

In this class, kids will get an introduction to basic cooking skills. Parents must be present at all times to cut and supervise the stovetop. Think of this more as a “Parent and Me” class. Please note, if there is any food preference or allergies, you will be responsible to make the safe alternative. You will receive a flyer with more instructions and a menu upon registration.

PLEASE NOTE: **The chef is called to Jury duty the week of December 8th, so there is a possibility the December 16th session will be a pre-recorded zoom class.**

The curriculum covers spatial relationships and composition while learning to draw step-by-step, as well as learning pencil techniques and shading, and other skills to create more realistic drawings. Painting consists of exploring watercolor pencil techniques. My goal is to give the children the skills and confidence to be able to create their own masterpieces for you to treasure. During the 8 weeks of this online art classes, students will get to create artwork with different mediums and themes. Some will be inspired by famous artists and others will be seasonal. We ask the parents to cover the work space with newspapers to protect it.

Each student will receive an essential art kit and also supplies needed for every week from Petit Bizoo Art Studio. We ask the parents to prepare before every art class:

  • cup of water for brushes
